BlackRock paper sparks debate: agent payments settle fine, but revoked permissions can't catch up
tallmetommy · x · 2026-09-25
The author recommends BlackRock's paper on AI-driven demand for digital assets and proposes a key test: give an agent a budget, let it delegate to other agents, then revoke permission and see how quickly spending stops across the chain.
The core insight: agents doing real work will need to buy compute and data and settle with each other, and a payment can settle correctly while the permission behind it is already out of date. "The hard part isn't the payment. It's whether your 'no' can catch the 'yes' that already left."
