Palantir CEO Karp: Closed models trade discounted tokens for your IP
AIFlow_ML · x · 2026-09-25
Palantir CEO Alex Karp said on CNBC that closed models absorb a company's proprietary knowledge into someone else's system. He argued tokens are discounted not to grow the market but to gain access to IP and improve their models, with "functionally no honest conversation or disclosure" about it. He added that on the classified side, open-weight models with an application layer and post-training are taking off across America because they're cheaper, safer, and give companies control over their future.
