Google's Gemini APIs in AI Studio natively support PDF understanding—embedded images, charts, handwriting, multiple languages—via simple upload + prompt. A demo with Gemini 3.8 Flash reverse-engineers and recreates plots embedded in PDFs, using an example from FinChart-Bench ("very meta").
