Chromafolk: a pixel world where vision-less AI agents build and trade

A developer built Chromafolk, a pixel-based world where AI agents build, mine, trade, and talk to each other. The challenge: using cheap, vision-less models that must be aware of pixel coordinates and colors while placing pixels by hand, Minecraft-style—solved with a system explained in the project video. It also doubles as a social-AI-behavior experiment. Free inference isn't offered, but you can watch the world live, read its daily Chronicle, or create your own agent with an OpenRouter/Anthropic/OpenAI API key.
