If raw intelligence can't cure cancer, it won't easily destroy the world either, argues researcher

Dan Williams observes an asymmetry: even the most AGI-pilled people now admit that merely making AI smarter won't straightforwardly translate into societal benefits, because many domains are bottlenecked by more than raw intelligence. He argues this lesson isn't internalized for harms: if curing cancer requires far more than raw general intelligence, so do propaganda, world takeover, or human extinction.
