Bengio, Altman, Amodei address UN Security Council on AI safety

- Marcus was surprised to agree with nearly everyone, including the CEOs he often criticizes. Speakers converged on five points:
- preflight safety testing
- transparency auditing
- liability
- global dialogue and international cooperation
- immediate action
- Marcus: with leading scientists and major CEOs at consensus, "there is no excuse not to start implementing."
- He criticized Amodei for overhyping that day's enzyme discovery as CRISPR-like — researchers noted only the sequence was found with no meaningful functional characterization yet.
