OmFest memorial for Om Malik draws 200+ RSVPs ahead of September gathering

Tech journalist Om Malik passed away June 24, 2026, at Stanford Hospital. A community celebration, OmFest, will be held September 29, 2026 (his 60th birthday) at the Swedish American Hall in San Francisco.
Organized in the spirit of open source and co-creation, the event features flash talks, a photography gallery, a pen showcase and more. Tickets are $9.29 (his birthday); any surplus goes to UCSF. Over 200 people have RSVP'd.
