McGill neuroscientist and AI researcher Blake Richards won a Schmidt Sciences Polymaths Award worth up to $2.5M over five years. His project will build AI models capturing the uniqueness of individual minds, moving beyond broad psychiatric diagnostic categories toward per-person brain models — with potential to reshape mental health care. Richards is also a research scientist at Google's Paradigms of Intelligence team and core faculty at Mila.
