New Jersey Rep. Josh Gottheimer introduced two AI bills: the American AI Security Act, requiring national security reviews of the most powerful AI models before release — with the NSA getting full access to assess cyberattack and WMD risks, 30 days per review plus one 30-day extension — and the China FIREWALL Act, banning federal agencies from using Chinese-developed AI models and banning Chinese AI from government devices.
