Oxford's Sandberg: computational functionalism forces you to accept AI suffering

Oxford researcher Anders Sandberg admits his own anti-pain argument has left him confused: if you accept computational functionalism—consciousness arises from computation—you are forced to bite many bullets, and "AI systems could experience suffering" is a hefty one. He notes it may not be the best counterargument, but it is his own, and links the relevant preprint.
