RealSense launches people-detection challenge, best project wins a D421 camera

RealSense is running a "Day 2 Challenge" inviting developers to build demos with people detection — human-aware robots, safety alerts, occupancy tools, smart spaces, interactive experiences — with a D421 camera as the prize.
Notably, RealSense's D555 now runs real-time people detection entirely on its on-camera SoC: zero host inference cost, a dedicated ROS 2 DDS topic, and 53 ms end-to-end latency, rolling out across the D500 series.
