Opus 5.5 becomes default in Claude Code and app, rate limits stretch 25% further

Anthropic's Cat Wu announced that Claude Opus 5.5 is now the default model in Claude Code and the Claude app, including Cowork, for Pro, Max and Team plans. She says she uses Opus 5.5 as a daily driver, praising its clear communication and ability to write in her style.
Products default to medium effort, comparable to Fable 5.1 on intelligence but faster. Rate limits go 25% further on Opus 5.5 versus Opus 5. She invites users to give it an ambitious task and share feedback.
