DeepSeek says its Harness aims to be the OS of the agent era, with built-ins replaceable by plugins
dotey · x · 2026-11-09
Responding to plugin authors asking whether third-party work still matters if the official team builds a feature, DeepSeek frames its Harness as an operating system for the agent era. Like smartphone OSes that ship basic apps while thriving on third-party ecosystems, DeepSeek will provide stable base capabilities and common built-ins — but under an everything-is-a-plugin design, built-ins can be replaced by community plugins, which it hopes will become users' daily choices.
