Dev pits OpenAI Astra Ultra against Cursor V4.1 in game-building test, V4.1 wins
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-09-21
Developer teortaxesTex shared a cross-model game dev experiment: asking Astra to "reenvision" a project yielded a set of stiff exhibition-piece mini-games he calls nothing a normal 16-year-old would play. His earlier coop game "Tiger&Hawk" built with V4.1 Flash was a dynamic, tight (if buggy) cyborg action game. He then extracted a design spec and tried replicating it in Godot with Astra Ultra, finding instruction-following decent but the result clearly worse than V4.1, closing with a jab at OpenAI's famous pelican-on-a-bicycle demo.
