Engineer's rant: at big company, everyone just feeds prompts to Claude Code all day
anshulkundaje · x · 2026-09-20
An engineer new to a big company posted a scathing account: for two weeks he found that specs, code, tests, PRDs, tickets and reports are all produced by Claude Code. Engineers from L1 to L7 do the same thing — talk to Claude and hit enter — working 12-13 hour days because management insists "pushing code isn't the bottleneck." Nobody reads anything, bugs go unresolved, and he describes the culture as soul-sucking with no sense of victory.
