Writer AndyMasley argues that recent discourse confirms his view: in the 2010s, any intellectual scene wanting to seriously consider the consequences of generally intelligent machines had to be "a little weird by necessity," because the mainstream still treats the idea as so insane that engaging with it makes you a crackpot.
