In a thread amplified by Matt Turck, Accenture AI lead François Douetteau argues that a few years out, AI companies will run multiple self-improving, aligned agentic swarms—but "day-one alignment" (don't kill me when you wake up) is only a necessary condition.
Key argument: humanity has run this experiment for two centuries with corporations. Nobody aligns an employee once at hiring and calls it done—we invented management, audit, incentives, rotation and restructuring precisely because drift is the default. The meta-step after alignment is long-run management: a system that watches many aligned systems over time.
