Nike let Federer walk; his On equity stake hit ~$300M vs $130M career prize money

In 2018 Nike let Roger Federer walk rather than pay $10M a year. He signed with small Swiss brand On and took an ownership stake; when On IPO'd in 2021 that stake was worth $300M — more than double his $130M career prize money from 20 Grand Slams over 24 years. The thread draws parallels to Kylian Mbappé.
