An ML researcher friend at a top Singapore university tipped the author off to the paper "Self-Evolving Search Index," calling it really interesting in the context of SEO and AI SEO.

The takeaway: search indexes could automatically pick up abuse trends and adjust themselves, instead of today's slow loop of manual review → targeted algo → official core/spam update. The author suspects this may also be where Google is heading, making anti-abuse endogenous and real-time — a signal worth tracking for SEO/AEO practitioners.
