A weird experiment now on day 5: wiring a 3D anime-girl avatar arm to a fruit fly's brain. Once the elbow joint could bend, the fly started using the arm like a foreleg — plausibly because it's connected to the fly's foreleg nervous system, the author notes, calling it "a bit scary." The reposter joked it'll be done to him tomorrow.
