Claude merges Chat and Cowork into one AI workspace that works in the background

Anthropic is merging Claude's Chat and Cowork into a single unified AI workspace: ask a question, hand over a task, or share a report and Claude takes it from there — even continuing to work in the background after you close your laptop. When something is unclear, Claude asks for clarification instead of guessing, while keeping the final decision with the user. The rollout reaches Pro and Max users over the next few weeks. As the author puts it, AI is moving from "answer my question" to "take care of the task."
