STOC 2027 call for papers adds AI-era rules: mandatory public posting and required videos

The 59th ACM Symposium on Theory of Computing (STOC 2027) has posted its call for papers. The conference runs June 6-10, 2027 in Atlanta as part of FCRC'27, with an AI Day on June 11. Submissions are due November 2, 2026, notifications February 1, 2027.
Citing generative AI's impact on research communication, STOC 2027 is experimenting with new policies:
- Limited submissions per author
- Mandatory public posting of papers
- A required video accompanying each accepted paper
- Camera-ready deadline lands on April 1 (April Fools' Day), which author Lance Fortnow jokes may not be coincidence
Scope remains the usual theory landscape: algorithms, complexity, cryptography, quantum computing, foundations of ML, and more.
