Geoffrey Litt argues that a document with a prompt is now a unit of executable software: sharing the document is sharing the program, no app store required.

Talking to non-engineers who use AI skills, he found classic software engineering problems re-emerging in a new medium:

Litt sees this as a chance to reinvent tooling for these problems. Quoting narphorium raises the evals angle: if anyone can edit skills, everyone must ensure changes don't fix one thing and break another — essentially a regression-testing problem.
