Anthropic opens Life Sciences Verification Program, grants verified teams access to Mythos for bio research

Anthropic is now accepting applications for its Life Sciences Verification Program (LSVP) in beta.
- Qualifying organizations—academic labs, startups, non-profits, biotechs, pharma—get access to Mythos 5.1 (first time) for biology and drug discovery work, plus Opus 5 and Sonnet 5 with a refined bio safety classifier.
- Exec ncfrey acknowledged researcher frustration with blocks on Claude Fable; LSVP is Anthropic's mechanism to prevent biological misuse (citing documented disrupted cases) while enabling legitimate life sciences research via a new set of safeguards.
- The program will expand to individual Pro and Max subscribers over time.
