China's AI models earn ~10% of OpenAI and Anthropic's ARR even as capex doubles to $139B

A Rhodium Group report argues China's AI challenge is no longer compute but monetization. Even as China is on track to double AI infrastructure spending to $139 billion this year, all Chinese AI models combined generate only around 10% of the ARR of OpenAI and Anthropic.
The widening gap between capex and revenue means financing and profitability could become the sector's central problem: massive investment remains far ahead of application-side income.
