Ethan Mollick rebuilds Umberto Eco's 33,000-book library in 3D with Claude Projects

Ethan Mollick used the new Claude Projects to reconstruct Umberto Eco's Milan library of 33,000 books in interactive 3D, feeding it all available photos, videos and records. The resulting map supports walk-through mode, 14 tours quoting Eco's own words about specific books, and grey haze over shelves not captured on film. Rare volumes (1,300) went to the Biblioteca Nazionale Braidense in 2021; the working library went to the University of Bologna.
