Seth Lazar, philosopher at Johns Hopkins, announced he will join Resolution's philosophy team part-time under Beba Cibralic, working alongside Geoffrey Irving, Daniel Murfet and Jacob Pfau, while retaining his JHU position.
Lazar argues AGI alignment and governance are society's most urgent challenges, and that we shouldn't rely on AI companies to make powerful AI go well. Resolution praised him as a top philosopher who built key infrastructure — journals, institutions, conferences — bridging philosophy and AI.
