Phil Schmid (Google) announced a new Gemini managed agents release:
- Lower costs: up to 30% cheaper with cache hit rates up to 22% higher
- Files API: easily upload, list and download files from the sandbox
- Credentials API: secure egress proxy for MCP servers, OAuth2, and third-party APIs, keeping secrets out of model context
- Free tier available in Google AI Studio and the Gemini API for experimentation
