Huawei unveils Peerium architecture and Atlas 960E SuperPoD scaling to 1M NPUs

At HUAWEI CONNECT 2026, rotating chairman David Wang announced the Atlas 960E SuperPoD — the industry's first NPO-based SuperPoD — and an agentic SuperCluster supporting up to one million NPUs. The new Peerium computing architecture uses Nested BSP and UnifiedBus (UB) interconnect to break the Turing/von Neumann single-machine and master–slave paradigms, making a million processors work as one computer, with progress on NPO standards.
