News automation scores 37 sources every 2 minutes, WhatsApp push costs under 20 rupees a month

A developer shared how he pivoted a failed news website into a WhatsApp-delivered briefing system for an export business owner:
- Delivery over destination: The client never opened a news site, so he kept the backend and switched to WhatsApp push.
- Scoring: The system watches 37 trade news sources every 2 minutes and scores each story 0-10 against the client's actual business—what he sells, target countries, and how he loses deals.
- Tiered push rules: Max 10 messages a day; anything under 7 never interrupts; 9+ ignores all limits; nothing routine arrives between 11pm and 7am.
- One button: Each message has a single "What's in it for me" button that returns the news's impact on his freight costs, buyers, and competitors instead of an article summary.
- Stack and cost: Runs on Cloudflare Workers with the WhatsApp Business API, an open source model for scoring and a cheap paid model for writing—under 20 rupees a month. Offered as a one-time-payment service, no subscription.
