China leads in production scale, components, cost, supply chains, and deployment speed; the West remains strongest in foundation models, robotics software, high-end platforms, VC funding, and frontier research. Because robotics plays out in the physical world, factories and supply chains matter as much as algorithms—leaving open which advantage wins long term.
