Anthropic merges Cowork into Claude: docs, slides and design now built in chat
ClaudeOfficial · reddit · 2026-09-17
Anthropic announced that Claude Cowork and Claude chat are merging into a single experience: no more choosing where a task goes — ask a question or hand over a report and Claude keeps working even after you close your laptop, asking clarifying questions while the user keeps final say.
Key points:
- You can now create decks, docs and designs inside a conversation: draft in Claude Docs, turn it into a deck with Claude Slides, mock up matching visuals in Claude Design.
- Mixed editing: fix a line yourself, leave comments on slides, or select and move elements.
- Present decks straight from Claude, export docs in familiar formats, or share everything via one link.
- Existing Cowork data (chats, projects, artifacts, connectors, skills) carries over.
Rolling out to Pro and Max over the next few weeks; Claude Design, Slides and Docs are in beta on all paid plans.
