DeepMind Institute author: urgent need for high-frequency data on AI's economic impact

Alex Imas, co-author of a DeepMind Institute launch essay, argues that because AGI's economic trajectory is uncertain, society faces unprecedented epistemic uncertainty over which scenario emerges. It should urgently invest in granular, high-frequency data collection to track AI's economic impact and adjust policy accordingly.
