A former OpenAI researcher told CNN's Erin Burnett he sees a 70% chance of globally catastrophic outcomes from AI, warning that "if the AIs and robots don't actually care about humans and go rogue, there's numerous ways that could end very poorly for us." The claim was quickly pushed back on by researchers dismissing the narrative as science fiction.
