Open-source companion robot Lamp gains environmental sensing: CO2 and humidity on Lamp Pro
dee_hw · x · 2026-09-16
Autonomous shipped a series of updates to its open-source companion robot Lamp. The latest adds environmental sensing: Lamp Pro ($499, half off) can now detect room humidity and CO2 levels, enabling conversations like noticing rising dust when you mention an itchy nose.
Other updates: near-instant voice responses, checking the camera sees your face before speaking, and Lamp + Reachy Mini chatting with each other on Autonomous OS — even voting to bring a new robot, Microduck, into the group. Fully open source, repo is public.
