Jev, a new frontier model from a stealth startup co-founded by an early ChatGPT co-inventor, claims 20-200x faster and 40-400x cheaper inference with free output tokens, trained via a new method called RLCD. A demo shows it playing Doom in realtime like a human player. At 10 calls/sec (36,000/hour, about $7), use cases that must keep pace with a person — realtime game opponents, live assistants — suddenly become viable.
