LeCun: better AI is safer AI — 'pacing' AI progress is counterproductive

Yann LeCun pushed back against calls to slow AI development with an aviation analogy: airplane design has grown steadily safer through progress — modern turbofans are so reliable that long-haul jets now need only two engines.
