The author argues Astra is less than 10% more efficient than Sol yet consumes usage at 2.5x the rate, punishing power users with elaborate agent and skill instructions rather than rewarding them. He calls the usage accounting opaque and suggests OpenAI should have kept Astra as a limited opt-in preview instead of forcing everyone onto higher costs.
