Factory AI Raises $200M at $5B Valuation to Scale Enterprise Coding Agents

Enterprise AI coding company Factory AI has raised $200M at a $5B valuation, claiming its self-improving software development platform now serves hundreds of thousands of developers at RBC, Adobe, Nvidia, T-Mobile, and Palo Alto Networks. The capital will fund research, product, and global go-to-market.

In a companion post, founder Eno Reyes argued that substantial engineering work remains between a model gaining a capability and teams being able to depend on it: understanding codebases, fitting into team workflows, knowing when results are wrong, and making systems reliable enough to stop checking every step. He stressed that companies doing this work must stay model-independent, since different models excel at different tasks and the tradeoffs keep shifting.
