UvA Recruiting PhD Students in Mech Interp and AI Safety via NWO Mosaic Funding
jonkhler · x · 2026-09-16
A researcher at the University of Amsterdam is recruiting PhD students working on mechanistic interpretability, AI for science, or AI safety.
Funding comes from the Dutch Research Council (NWO) Mosaic 3.0 scholarship, aimed at underrepresented groups in Dutch academia: graduates with Dutch nationality or permanent residence who were born outside Europe (or whose parents were), and researchers with demonstrable refugee status. Applicants submit their own pre-proposal and, if invited, a full proposal; a master's degree plus a bachelor's obtained in the Kingdom of the Netherlands is required, and applications are individual only. Both groups are assessed by one committee but have separate budgets.
