Vercel launches Labs, a public R&D arm showcasing agent tools with 247M downloads

Vercel CEO Guillermo Rauch formally introduced Vercel Labs, the company's public research and experimentation arm, built on 247 million downloads and now sharing what it supports, researches, and what failed.
Projects are classified into mature Labs products, fast-iterating Active experiments, and retired Past experiments. Highlights include:
- agent-browser: browser automation CLI for AI agents
- deepsec: security harness run by coding agents
- just-bash: a Bash environment for agents
- -render: generative UI framework
- skills: CLI for the open agent skills ecosystem
- portless: named local URLs instead of ports
- fx: Unix-like coding agent
- vgpu: modular cross-runtime WebGPU library
