Gensyn ships open-1b, the first language model with bit-for-bit auditable training proof

Gensyn has released open-1b, a 1B-parameter open model that ships with something no lab has offered before: proof of how it was trained. Every training step has a public fingerprint, and anyone can replay those steps on their own hardware to verify bit-for-bit that the published record is genuine.
- Instead of decentralizing training itself (costly, communication-heavy), Gensyn decentralizes verification, yielding the same net benefits without the upfront costs.
- The team also published a technical report benchmarking verifiability and invited the public to audit the steps themselves.
- The authors frame auditable training as a defense against a black-box AI future, arguing AI can be built in the open and verified by ordinary people, like open source always has been.
