Perplexity launches Portable Computer: on-device local agent, no cloud credits

Perplexity announced Portable Computer, a local-first version of its Computer agent for supported HP PCs that runs tasks entirely on-device with a local model, keeping private data on the machine and avoiding cloud credits. It's part of the HP partnership lineup alongside the Autodesk Revit MCP integration and pre-installation on HP ZBook Ultra G3a.
