effect-harness on Cloudflare: run agent loops, tools and credentials on separate VMs
samgoodwin89 · x · 2026-10-31
JuliaScript demos deploying agents with alchemyrun + effect-harness + Cloudflare: Effect's Layer system gives effect-harness distribution for free — the agent loop runs in a VM, a client on another machine sends messages, credentials live elsewhere, and every tool runs in its own location (CLI on VM1, filesystem on VM2 if you like). The attached code shows the structure: agent.ts defines a per-user Agent via Cloudflare.RpcDurableObject with OpenAI and FetchHttp layers, worker.ts routes /agents/<name> with token auth, and the client connects via a WebSocket transport.
