Claude-coded project runs real TempleOS inside Half-Life 1's in-game monitors
racialminority · reddit · 2026-09-15
A developer used Claude to run a real TempleOS instance inside Half-Life 1: a background QEMU VM streams via VNC onto an in-game monitor, so you can walk up, type, and play its mini games. Claude handled the VNC client, QEMU launcher, and input wiring fine; the hard part was hooking OpenGL in the poorly documented 1998 GoldSrc engine. Open source at aravpanwar/half-life-templeos.
