MiniMax launches Design: an agent-driven canvas that turns one brief into a full video production

MiniMax has released MiniMax Design, a local-first multimodal AI creative studio for macOS and Windows.

In the official demo, a single brief handed to the main agent "Astra" resulted in a full Blender scene — camera direction included — with the agent driving Blender through an official connector and syncing results straight onto the canvas; the final video was generated by MiniMax H3 from the same canvas. The pitch: "one brief + one canvas = a whole production crew."
The product is structured as a five-step workflow: intent intake (the agent breaks down tasks and auto-matches models), node-based canvas flow (script, storyboard, video, music, and editing on one canvas), a reuse layer (build custom Skills by chat, one-click community workflows, pro plugins for cinematic VFX), and a local-first asset center (canvas assets auto-save locally, agents can access local files and export to pro tools).
Positioned as an "AI-native creation platform" orchestrating text, image, and video models end-to-end.
