Feishu launches Doubao Work Buddy: a shared AI teammate you can add to any group chat

Feishu and Doubao unveiled "Doubao Work Buddy", a team-shared AI coworker modeled on the Claude-for-Slack paradigm (which Karpathy called AI's third UX paradigm). It gets an independent persona, name and organizational identity, can be added to any company group chat, reads docs and code, attends meetings, connects to GitHub/multidimensional sheets/knowledge bases, and proactively pushes work forward.
- Admins can configure persona, automations, memory and permissions, and create multiple differently-purposed buddies.
- The author's beta workflow: teammates @ the buddy in a topic-brainstorm group for tech feasibility research, fact-checking, summary cards, entering topics into a backlog, scheduling and sending calendar invites.
- He argues the real value is slashing organizational coordination cost, enabled by Feishu's decade of chat/docs/sheets infrastructure; he moved his own company's comms from WeChat to Feishu because of it.
Currently in invite-only testing; token costs may be significant.
