5 hours of data, full-box demos: robot generalizes to a light box held out of training

A robotics practitioner shares a hands-on training experiment: with just 5 hours of demonstration data collected across the whole box (not just the top tray), and with the light box deliberately held out of training as an out-of-distribution test, the robot still handled the unseen box—imperfectly, with occasional mistakes, but generalizing. The takeaway: diverse data is the key to generalization.
