Apple published a nine-page internal study backing its claim that Apple Watch Series 12 offers the most accurate wearable heart-rate sensing.
- Tested July–Aug 2026 across five US/Malaysia sites; 1,460 adults enrolled, 1,254 contributed paired measurements
- Polar H10 ECG chest strap served as reference; Series 12 on one wrist vs. competitors on the other (Garmin Forerunner 970, Pixel Watch 4, Huawei Watch 5, Samsung, Oura, WHOOP)
- Scenarios spanned outdoor running, treadmill intervals, cycling, HIIT, strength training, plus resting, desk work, meal prep and walking
- Result: Series 12 was statistically more accurate overall than every comparison device in both workouts and daily life
