Mathematician Greg Burnham frames mathematicians' concerns about AI's impact on math: it may gradually disempower humanity's ability to understand math by degrading the social structures that currently enable that understanding.
RL researcher Csaba Szepesvari endorsed the framing as compact and accurate, but remains optimistic that while the profession changes, the thirst for knowledge and understanding will not dry up.
